A content strategy is crucial for social search

On Wednesday, I’ll be speaking at Search Engine Strategies in London about how a content strategy plays an important role in social search (and therefore the bigger search picture). Alongside two search marketers from America and Canada, my role on the panel will be very much geared along the communications route, focusing on how content strategy and social search fit into a wider marketing and PR plan.

What’s the interest with social network Pinterest?

For many, visual and photo sharing site Pinterest has just burst onto the social networking scene, reportedly building a 13 million user base in the last 10 months. Google quietly enables country specific blocking for Blogger

Last week Twitter caused a bit of an international stir when it announced it could now block tweets on a per country basis. Yesterday, news that Google had in fact introduced the same thing three weeks earlier (on January 9th). Ironically, the day before Twitter announced its blocks, Reporters Without Borders released its index showing that Australia, the UK and the United States have less freedom of press this year than last.
