What’s social at Internet Week Europe (IWE) 2012?
If you thought the last of creative, digital and social media goodness had come to an end for this year, you’d be wrong. Digital festival Internet Week Europe (IWE) graces UK shores for the third time bring a range of flavours including social media from 12-16 November 2012.
IWE is a digitally fuelled festival all bringing a great blend of types to London including creative, technology and social media to celebrate everything digital. For the next five days delegates from agencies, businesses, brands and technology providers will converge, sharing knowledge from a variety of sectors all with the same goal in mind – harnessing creative, digital, marketing, mobile and social technologies.
With so much happening, it’s difficult to choose what to pick out as a must attends even with a little help from the Internet Week Europe press release, but we’ve given it a go. BBC Worldwide Labs in association with Olswang is hosting a social media session entitled ‘How social media platforms drive content creation and ultimately engagement’ on Tuesday, 13 November 2012 from 08:30 to 10:30. BBC Worldwide describes the event as, “a topical and lively session for Internet Week Europe focused on the importance of engaging and integrating with social media platforms in order to drive content creation and consumer engagement.”
With a line-up from BBC Worldwide, Facebook, Google, Krowd 9 and wireWAX there’s no wonder the free tickets have been snapped up. However, there is a waiting list, so worth a punt don’t you think? If you aren’t so lucky, keep up-to-date from @BBCWLABS or via Internet Week social channels.
It’s safe to say there is plenty of happening over this socially charged week whether via events, panels, seminar, training, work shops and obligatory parties and after parties. And that’s not all! IWE hosts the Lovie Awards that honours the European excellence with an evening reception, celebrating the Lovie Awards participants, winners and special achievement winners.
