I have also raised twice over the last seven weeks over what could be perceived favouritism of 17 year old Irish contestant Janet Devlin, due to her prominence on the programme’s official YouTube channel and email shots.

Creating quite the media storm certainly helped The X Factor’s social profiles, with the programmes YouTube channel seeing an extra one million upload views and a 350 increase in subscribers this week compared to Week 5. The interesting figures for The X Factor come when you look at its Facebook engagement and Twitter followers.
