Popular social network for children Moshi Monsters goes mobile

Moshi Monsters LogoMind Candy, the company behind Moshi Monsters, has today announced a partnership that will see the popular children’s social network on mobile and tablet devices for the first time.

Michael Acton Smith, founder and chief executive officer of Mind Candy comments, “Our fans love tablets and smartphones so we’re really excited to take our much loved characters and stories to these new platforms.”  London based Mind Company has partnered with mobile gaming platform GREE, who will build and launch two new Moshi Monsters games for release towards the end of 2012.

The games, details of which haven’t been released, will be available to Moshi Monsters 60 million users worldwide as well as GREEs community of 230 million.  They will be fully localised available in multiple languages including English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean and Mandarin.

GREE is delighted to be a part of the franchise’s move to mobile and believes the relationship is a great opportunity to further illustrate GREE’s on-going commitment to bringing quality content for all gamers to the new platform,” says Yoshikazu Tanaka, founder of GREE.

As part of its move into mobile gaming, Mind Candy is building an in-house team to handle mobile partnerships and development of additional mobile titles, including several games and apps to be released throughout 2012.
