The UK is home to 17.5 million social gamers
The US social gaming revenue share by segment is set it hit a staggering $1.3 billion in 2012 according to Tripwire magazine. In its social gaming by the numbers infographic it sheds more light on social gaming around the world. It is a US-centric statistical look at the social gaming industry, but does disclose that the UK is home to 17.5 million social gamers, leading four other European countries, but is eclipsed by the USA with over 53 million social gamers tuning in.
The social gaming infographic also breaks down:
- The 25 most popular social games
- Revenue share segment
- Number of gamers by country (Belgium, France, Germany, Netherlands, USA and the UK)
- US social gamers by age
- Number of US social gamers
- US social gaming revenue
Unsurprisingly, Zynga's Cityville and Farmville lead the 25 social gaming applications, but aren't the only appearances listed by the social gaming specialist.
