InfoSpace Recruit for Growth
Search & Directory and Mobile Company InfoSpace Appoint Dominic Trigg and John Thornhill in Preparation of Search Growth
Search & Directory and Mobile Company InfoSpace http://www.Infospaceinc.com has appointed Dominic Trigg and John Thornhill in preparation of a massive surge in the Search sector.
InfoSpace, whose metasearch technology has established the company as a key player in the US search and directory market, has sent a clear signal of their determination to extend a powerful presence across Europe, with the announcement that they have appointed two of the industry’s brightest stars.
Dominic Trigg, who joins as Vice President of InfoSpace Europe Search & Directory, has been at the forefront of online development since the mid ‘90’s, including roles as Advertising Sales Director at MSN and more recently Advertising Operations Director for Yahoo UK. He has also held positions at Hotmail, Expedia, BT Internet and the BBC, gaining extensive experience across traditional and digital media.
Dominic Trigg explains, “The sheer volume of information available on the web has doubled within the last four years alone, and users are beginning to recognise the benefits of having the best results from all the leading search engines in one place.
This enhanced user experience adds real value for consumers who use our European search sites (Dogpile.co.uk, WebFetch.com and Webcrawler.de), and our corporate partners, who are seeing outstanding monetisation from Infospace searches conducted on their own websites.”
John Thornhill joins as Director of Business Development Search & Directory. He is well-known as a new media innovator and corporate venturing specialist, having developed ground-breaking initiatives on both sides of the Atlantic with organisations including IBM, PA Consulting, The Sunday Times and more recently a Director of Metronomy. Like Trigg, he believes that a strong understanding of traditional media is a key ingredient to Infospace’s plans for the future.
John Thornhill says, “As the line between traditional and new media becomes ever more blurred, it creates tremendous potential for innovative cross-media partnerships. InfoSpace is ideally positioned to capitalise on these due to our non-competing strategic objectives and the significant benefits of our metasearch capability.
In a market that thrives on innovation, we can make a real difference to our customers by taking a more consultative and entrepreneurial approach. We’re not interested in providing a ‘one size fits all’ offering, we insist on working closely with our clients to develop creative solutions that will deliver outstanding results for them.”
The continued explosive growth of online search, coupled with the strong and growing team that is now in place, heralds an exciting new chapter in the company’s ambitious plans.
