Neil Cartwright to guest present on location marketing and NFC at midem
Media Junction’s Neil Cartwright to present on location marketing and NFC at music conference midem in Cannes, France from 28-31 January 2012
02 December 2011, London, UK ---- Neil Cartwright, head of digital at arts and entertainment agency Media Junction is to present at music conference Midem in the new year (28-31 January 2012, Cannes, France).
Cartwright delivers his presentation at internationally renowned music conference entitled ‘How to Get the Most out of Your Location Marketing & NFC Strategy’, on Saturday, 28 January 2012 at 14:00. It’s featured in the marketing segment building engagement: digital marketing, D2F and social media strategy.
Neil Cartwright, head of digital at Media Junction comments, "NFC is set to radically change the way we buy not just music, but gig tickets and merchandise forever. It can range from tapping on posters and CDs to access information, or sharing music by tapping two phones together, to paying for music with a single tap on a counter. The presentation will contain information on the technology, the latest applications, trends in audience behaviour and practical tips and advice.”
A midem veteran, it’s Cartwright’s fourth year presenting at the music conference and he has been a mentor for the last three years. Attendees will take away from the presentation the sheer scale of what can be done using NFC. Secondly, how they can take steps to prepare and begin to understand both the impact and the opportunities that location marketing and NFC will have upon their business.
Cartwright, who currently manages digital and location-based marketing for Jamiroquai.com, HMV MAMA Group plc, The O2, EMI and independent high street retailers.
He was previously head of new media at Sony Music UK for nine years and Chairman of the Board of Directors at Community Music. He has won a New Media Age Effectiveness Award, three Creative Art and Design Awards (CADS) and two Online Music Awards (OMA).

In December 2008 Cartwright was named in The Observer's Courvoisier Future 500 as one of the people who will help shape the future of the UK.
His is Chair of the Board of Directors of a music charity called Community Music, who help aspiring musicians and producers from Tower Hamlets get in to the music business.
