12 November 2001, London, UK ---- New Media Maze the interactive marketing consultancy has been appointed by Universal Pictures Video to promote the release of the Hear’Say Video and DVD release.

To celebrate their first live tour, Hear’Say (Kym, Myleene, Suzanne, Danny and Noel) are releasing Video and DVD, from the performance recorded at the Manchester show.

Universal Video Pictures are using integrating online marketing to promote the Hear’Say Video release, which is available to own from 12th November 2001, and the DVD will be available from 3rd December 2001.

Universal Pictures Video are giving away copies 40 copies of the Video and DVD, informing fans by distributing a Hear’Say HTML newsletter that went out on the 9th and 10th of November 2001.

The newsletter contains Video a clip and will be distributed to a massive 90,000 Hear’Say fans. The newsletter then links back to the official Hearsay website, where the target audience can watch a clip taken from the tour, which has been edited and compressed by New Media Maze.

In addition to this, the newsletter tells fans that Hear’Say have got a new single coming out on 26th November 2001 and that they should watch out for Hear’Say’s brand new album, which is coming out the same day as the DVD [3rd December 2001]. The messages will ultimately drive the 7 – 15 year old male and female Hear’Say fans to the official Hear’Say website, urging them to check out their website for more details.

Hayley Barker, Online Promotions Manager for New Media Maze, explains, “Hear’Say is an incredibly well-known band due to how they originated and how they have now progressed. We expect the pending Video release to be extremely popular, because it’s their first tour ‘ever’, and of their live performance, which can now be owned by all of their fans.

The HTML newsletter has viral connotations in addition to which, the timing of the campaign means that fans will receive the email just days before they can go out and purchase a copy.

Barker adds, “Hear’Says’ fan base is huge. The HTML email not only informs their fans that the Video is out to own from the 12th November 2001, but also channels related promotional messages for forthcoming releases driving their fans to the official website.
