Interactive Marketing Consultancy, New Media Maze Appointed by Universal Pictures UK to Promote Video and DVD Release of Jurassic Park 3


New Media Maze http://www.newmediamaze.com the Interactive Marketing Consultancy has been appointed by Universal Pictures Video UK to promote the Jurassic Park 3 Video and DVD in the UK.

The online campaign is to push the release and sales of the Jurassic Park 3 Video and DVD, which is out to own from 11th February 2002. The movie release made a huge impact on the big screen taking 18.2 million at the box office, more than both Pearl Harbour and Tomb Raider. The massive special FX film has a great cast where Sam Neill makes his second appearance as Dr. Alan Grant, starring alongside William H. Macy, Téa Leoni, Alessandro Nivola, Trevor Morgan - with cameo appearances from Laura Dern.

Running for one month starting in early February 2002, the campaign will run on a number of third party sites, until the beginning of March 2002.

The campaign is to create a positive buzz with online promotions to raise awareness and achieve broad coverage to primary audience of parents of children aged nine upwards for VHS, then to children - incorporating offline integration mirroring activity with offline mediums. For the DVD New Media Maze will be focusing on adults aged 18-35, but because the film has mass appeal, its additional audiences will be addressed with appropriate promotional techniques.

Online promotions includes streaming trailers both to the press and consumers excited by the film and a HTML viral email is to be sent to Universal Pictures UK’s opt-in database, targeting each of the representative groups boosting awareness. The viral marketing mechanics are to ensure that the participant is encouraged to participate again and to email it on, naturally spreading the viral message.

Third party promotional activity also incorporates tying up three major promotions with three sites that fall within Jurassic Park 3 target audiences and may connect a major push with online e-tailers is via direct links from that activity, the HTML newsletter and links from streamed trailer to e-tailers.

We have devised a campaign to capture this interest and excitement and believe that recent and current films, dramas ands documentaries that have been released will only serve to snowball this effect.”
