on-IDLE, the design and web development agency is celebrating its 5th trading year, and delivers a new website.

Steady business and an impressive client list have ensured on-IDLE continues to prosper. on-IDLE established in June 1999 provide Branding, Design and Development services for: web, extranet, intranet, mobile devices, print and signage, with a specialist focus on Flash, XML, XSLT, CSS, accessibility, usability and Open Source Content Management Systems (CMS).

on-IDLE Co-Founder and Managing Director Ané-Mari Peter says, “Reaching our 5th birthday is the realisation that on-IDLE is all grown up, we’ve just moved to new office space to accommodate necessary expansion and are launching our new website on Wednesday, 23rd of September 2004 – it’s a very exciting time”.

Their portfolio includes offerings such as the on-line press office for the General Medical Council, the corporate website and intranet for the New West End Company, the International Society of Typographic Designers’ website (ISTD), and the home page re-design for the Swiss Embassy London on-IDLE continues to foster vital links with educational institutions such as the London College of Communication (LCC, formerly London College of Printing) designing the dynamic website and corporate identity for the new Photography and the Research Archive Centre, the soon to be launched dynamic website for the LCC’s School of Media and the recently launched short courses site for the University of Art and Design, Zurich (HGKZ)

What does “on-IDLE” mean?
on-IDLE” is a script handler from the Lingo language used for Macromedia Director. It is a handler that is activated when everything is down – when the computer is idle. The “on” command activates the application / tool / device again. Similar to a car idling, it is ready to go, but only when the handler is activated (gas pedal and gears) does it go. on-IDLE do a lot of trouble-shooting and updates on previously developed work for agencies and companies, making the name more apt than ever in today’s fast changing interactive environment. We always tease our customers with this made-up script: “on-IDLE go pub”, i.e. leave the problem with us and go and relax.
