User-Lab appoints Elemental for PR consultancy
User-Lab retains Elemental to raise its brand and profile with media relations and PR
Elemental has been retained by User-Lab to raise its brand and profile.
User-Lab, a not-for-profit organisation, which are part of the Birmingham Institute of Design. Throughout the campaign, Elemental’s primary focus is to raise the awareness of User-Lab; its events, products and services and best practices that they adhere to.
Usability Engineer at User-Lab, John Knight, comments, “Elemental has been appointed because of their experience with new media and technology press. They also possess extremely solid credentials and expertise with design and web development type media, and have an excellent understanding of usability and accessibility issues. They demonstrated that they have solid contacts with the media that covers our space and are inventive to approach media that would be normally usability shy.”
Elemental will direct the campaign to web developers and designers, website owners and managers, marketers and other individuals that either; build, maintain or monitor the performance of websites and related technology.

User-Lab is a non-profit making organisation based at Birmingham Institute of Art and Design. The lab is part of the Institute’s Research Department and is staffed by a multidisciplinary team with expertise in digital media design, human-computer interaction, psychology and software engineering.
The lab comprises three purpose-built testing and design labs that are equipped with the latest technology for conducting behavioural, physiological and psychological research. The lab has two related functions: to carry out research into the digital experience and, based on the results of this work, to develop an innovative commercial service.
In the two years since its inception, the lab has been involved in a number of collaborative projects with RDAs, FEs, charities and the public and private sector. The outcomes of these projects range from assisting start up businesses to training, as well as the lab’s core business of user-centred design services.
