Silas Brown
Solicitor
Silas joined the firm in 2006. He is a solicitor specialising in intellectual property including branding, registered and unregistered trade marks and licensing as well as information technology including e-commerce, computer and Internet law. Silas has a solid background in dealing with a range of commercial contracts, terms and conditions and advising on commercial arrangements for the successful exploitation of intellectual property rights and technology.
Silas' has been successful in overcoming objections to trade mark registration for clients as well as advising on how legal protection of intellectual property rights form the basis of successful branding and commercial strategies. Silas has advised clients on breaches of confidentiality, infringements of database right, trade mark infringement and design right infringement.
He has also advised clients on domain name disputes and web site legal compliance issues. Silas understands the importance of the protection of intellectual property and technology to growing the value of a business and takes a straightforward and practical approach to legal advice.

Alex Chapman
Partner
Alex joined the firm in 1999 and specialises in interactive entertainment and licensing. In particular he is regarded as one of the leading figures in the field of computer games and interactive media and as a result of his work in these areas he was short-listed for Solicitor the Year in the 2003 Lawyer Awards. Alex has first hand knowledge of the interactive media and games industries as part of development teams on a number of successful games products before taking up the law and he now acts for a wide variety of clients including games developers, publishers and brand and character licensors and licensees.
Among a long list of important projects, which he has worked on, Alex has acted for the developers of some of the most popular and successful computer games in relation to a wide variety of legal issues. These include advising on development contracts with publishers across numerous platforms; protection extension and exploitation of brands into a wide variety of merchandise; licensing of rights into and out of games and undertaking high profile litigation.
More recently Alex has advised on pioneering convergent media projects including the first example of the use of games technology as the basis for television programmes.

Sarah Jeffrey
Solictor
Commercial work has included drafting, advising upon and negotiating varied contracts including development agreements, licences, assignments, terms and conditions, manufacturing agreements and joint venture agreements. Her litigation experience has included copyright and design right cases in the High Court and day to day case management and advocacy on other litigation matters in the County Court as well as resolving intellectual property related disputes.
Sarah regularly files trade marks for clients in a variety of international jurisdictions. Sarah has presented several seminars to clients and to various groups including on e-commerce, data protection, copyright and trade marks. She also contributes regularly to various trade publications.

Paul Randle
Solicitor
Paul joined the firm in February 2003. Paul has a wealth of experience of intellectual property matters having set up the IP team at his previous firm. Paul has practical experience both in the UK and internationally.
Paul led the team involved in multiple patent and trade mark enforcement actions brought across Europe; successfully defended domain name infringement proceedings in the United States by the International Olympic Committee; acted for a UK client in multi-million pound disputes with the Ministries' of Education in Malaysia and the UK.
Paul advises many high profile clients including Madame Tussauds Group on many aspects of their business including branding, licensing and image and personality rights. Paul regularly contributes to the press including the Financial Times and Metro as well as appearing on BBC Television. Paul contributes numerous articles to the trade press and has spoke at academic and industry events.
Paul writes a regular column in Brand Strategy magazine and is on the Advisory Board for Brand Licensing Show. Paul recently successfully completed a PG Diploma in International and Comparative Trade Mark and Copyright Law at the IP Institute (University of London).
