Ian Harris
Managing Director
Ian founded Web Tapestry in 1999 with Mike Reed, Customer Services Director.
Ian began programming in BASIC in 1986, and started developing Web sites in the late 1990's. His interest in Internet technologies led him to co-founder Mike Reed through Internet Usenet groups. Whilst working as an IT Consultant, Ian gained enough knowledge of Linux to convince the pair to invest in a server, place it in a data centre and start selling Web space. Thus, Web Tapestry was born and Ian left his IT Consultant position.
Outside of IT, Ian's great passion has always been flight. Having deferred a place on an Aeronautical Engineering course, Ian spent three years in Airline operations before learning to fly in early 1999. His licence followed later that year and he has been flying single engine planes ever since.
